With the help of 5 decorators and interior designers, Hostelco Live Hotel will present the latest trends in various rooms of a hotel: from the reception to the gym, through different types of suites and a meeting room with the latest technological solutions. It will recreate unique environments, combining functionality and aesthetics, comfort and flexibility, atmosphere and sensations, technology and respect for the environment, which are already key to the success of tourist accommodation and other establishments in the Horeca channel.
In this regard, the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation and its Hotel Technology Institute, CEHAT – ITH will be the authors of the design and implementation of the ‘Techroom to live in by ITH’ in partnership with several companies such as Hewlett Packard (HP), Bumerania Robotics, Cerium Tecnologías, Chapp Solutions, Daikin and Miguel Soler Arquitectos, among others. This space will feature systems related to artificial intelligence, big data, IoT, robotics and home automation, focused on achieving maximum comfort. Elements such as facial recognition or self check-in are some of the innovative solutions that will be found in this space, as well as television with IPTV technology, immersive reality, robotics and the personalised automation of resources through the use of voice. The aim is to achieve connected facilities that generate the best customer experience.
DyD Interiorismo will create the lobby, the space that will welcome you to this unique journey through interior design. It will do so by using the “architecture of the senses”, a design inspired by open spaces with elements of organic shapes made from recyclable materials that play with light and interact with nature.
Meanwhile, Estudio Contract will build the Smart-Junior Suite, an open, multi-purpose space that adapts to the needs of a new style of customer, one that is increasingly connected: its interior design, in a Mediterranean style where bright, diaphanous spaces predominate, will feature built-in technological systems that guarantee energy savings and provide control of the environment (light, temperature, humidity percentage, etc.).
Similarly, the Valencian interior designer Carmela Martí will present an ecological room inspired by a Mediterranean seaweed, Posidonia, where she will recreate an ecosystem made from recycled and sustainable materials. This project seeks to highlight the need to minimise human impact on the environment.
Cuesta Studio will present the Poleo Room Suite project, a room with a clear definition of spaces without architectural limits that will allow us to enjoy a global perception with the same light and continuity. The room will have different uses and will use technology to convey quality and warmth. It is all about being welcoming and offering the highest performance.
Finally, the fitness room will be run by Oss Fitness Sport Systems, which will be showing cardio, strength and indoor cycling equipment, as well as training and stretching gear. More and more guests with an interest in sport and health value the fact that a hotel has a gym when making their bookings.
Professionals interested in learning more about these trends can also attend several of the conferences and presentations offered by the Hostelco Live Arena programme, which will address topics such as the challenges and opportunities posed by the evolution of new technologies and their multiple applications in the world of hospitality, digital marketing, sustainability, cybersecurity, the use of artificial intelligence and Big Data, and the circular economy and energy transition, among others.

Hostelco and Alimentaria
Hostaleco, the leading show in Spain and European benchmark in its field, organised by Fira de Barcelona and the Spanish Federation of Associations of Equipment Manufacturers for Hospitality, Collectives and Related Industries (FELAC), is being held from 4th to 7th April at the Gran Via venue alongside Alimentaria.
Together, the two shows will occupy a net exhibition area totalling around 85,000 m2 and bring together some 3,000 exhibiting companies, thus creating one of the largest international platforms and a go-to event for the food industry, gastronomy and catering equipment, as it will display the most comprehensive and multi-faceted range of products from the domestic and international markets to the distribution chain and the Horeca channel.
